The revised EMS standard now explicitly addresses climate resilience, biodiversity protection, pollution prevention, and sustainable resource management as strategic organizational considerations.

Certification Bodies Preparing for ISO 14001:2026 Transition Audits

Accredited certification bodies worldwide are updating auditor competence, transition procedures, and audit methodologies to align with ISO 14001:2026 requirements. Transition audits are expected to begin widely during 2026.
